Gift of the Fairies

about

The last song that we wrote. Marshall came in, and the band was like, "give us your man card, man." It was the love song. And it was honestly our worst sounding song. I did not really like it. We just finished up Rend and then Marshall dropped this knowledge on us. But man. This song is easily the best sounding song now. It really shows how versatile Marshall is at writing and playing music. I love the harmonies on the chorus, and Jared went crazy with the effects on the guitar. It's as if Pink Floyd met a girl. Another funny thing is that Marshall and us wanted to change the name of this song to something else, and we always made jokes about a new song title. When Jared and I were sharing different recordings of this song we never got "Fairies" spelled correctly, and I said "it doesn't matter; we're going to change the name anyways." It never changed... I wish it was I that slept those hundred years only to wake up in your arms.
